Common Questions

  • What is the refund/ cancellation policy.
    Cancellations made with at least 7 days notice will be eligible for a full refund. Cancellation requests after 7 days and up to 48 hours before the first day of course will be eligible for 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 48 hours of course start date. Cancellation requests MUST be made via email after the 7 day cancellation period: Jasmine@aquatechpm.com
  • Are there pre-requisites for lifeguard classes?
    Yes! On the first day of class all participants must demonstrate the following: - Minimum age: 15 years - Swim 300 yards continuously - Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs - Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds by starting in the water swimming 20 yards surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point exit the water without using steps or a ladder.
  • How do I find my certification after completing the course?
    Processing time by the Red Cross varies, but typically 3-5 business days after successfully completing your course you will receive an email with your digital certification. You can also find and download your digital certification at any time by going to the Red Cross website here: https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate
  • How long does the Blended Learning take?
    Time varies person to person but the online learning can take anywhere from 7-10 hours. Please plan accordingly to finish these trainings before the first day of your course. You will not be able to complete the course without them!
  • What should I bring with me to lifeguard class?
    We will be in and out of the water each day, here is a recommended list of things to bring: - Bathing Suit - Towel(s) - Change of Clothes - Snacks/Lunch/Water - Proof of completed online learning lessons (email or printed certificate) If your course is in May or later, your lifeguard class will be OUTDOORS. Please include sun protections in addition to general class materials.
  • What is the inclement weather policy for lifeguard classes?
    Class will not be canceled due to inclement weather a majority of the time. If there is a severe weather event, you will be contacted if there is a change in your course schedule. We do not get in the water during active thunderstorms, however there are skills and content that are conducted out of the water that can be safely facilitated at these times. We do still enter the water in the rain to conduct skill practice and class.
  • Why can't I access the Course Offerings?
    Course offerings and lifeguard classes are only available for AquaTech employees. Please apply for lifeguard positions at AquaTech, we would love to have your submission here: https://form.jotform.com/222615916698064
